Two batches of pics this time – first set of pics were taken over the weekend, approximately 6 weeks following my 16th treatment. As you can see, I’m seeing little to no progress at this stage.

Second set of pics were taken this morning. Yesterday I had my 17th treatment at Blink. Joanie zapped me three times in a row, 20 minutes apart. Apparently they had more maintenance done to the laser. She is very surprised that I’m not reacting to the treatments. She said it is very unusual.

6 weeks following 16th treatment…. by the way, the ugly “lines” on my skin are from my socks:

Day after 17th treatment (three laser sessions within an hour). The redness usually only lasts 2-3 days. Fortunately, I have been healing nicely after every laser session. My skin is completely smooth over the tattoos. No scarring whatsoever:

Not much to say here, the photos pretty much speak for themselves. It’s slow going at this point. All I can do is wait it out…

Photos taken six weeks following my 15th treatment. I started my treatments in June of 2009.

Had my 15th treatment this morning. Blink is trying something new with me – today they gave me three separate treatments, 15 minutes apart, on both tattoos. We’re going to see if that moves things along a bit.

I supposed they progressed a little this time – I dnno, what do you guys think? Pics taken 6 weeks following my 14th treatment:

These pics were taken 6 weeks after my 12th treatment. I just got my 13th treatment on November 2, and will post those pics in another few weeks. Overall, not seeing much change at this stage. They’ve got me maxed out on the laser – I went from a level 3 to a level 12 over the course of 13 treatments. Yes, it still hurts like hell. I noticed Blink Skincare, where I go for my laser treatments, has posted a series of videos documenting the treatment process of one of their customers, who went on to describe the laser pain as a “2 on a scale of 1-10.” What?!

laser tattoo removal treatment #12

I realize the ink in these latest pics actually looks darker than the last few treatments, which is mostly due to the lighting (indoor vs. outdoor). The pics above are more accurate than the outdoor shots. This is the real thing, kids – 17 months of treatments and still a long way to go.

3rd laser tattoo removal treatment

3rd laser tattoo removal treatment

Well, we’re making progress, although sometimes I feel like the tattoos can’t fade fast enough. I feel like I’ve plateaued a bit from sessions 3 to 4; just had the fourth session last week. I’ll post those pics in a few more weeks, as I seem to see the best results 4-5 weeks after each laser treatment.

The kanji tattoo remains relatively unchanged.

On July 23, 2009 I had my second laser tattoo removal treatment at Blink Skin Care. I was slightly less nervous this time around, and was in and out in about 20 minutes. They shot both ankles up with more lidocaine which hurt like a BITCH, but the pain from the laser this time was minimal.

laser tattoo removal before and after 2nd treatment

It’s been 17 days since the 2nd treatment and finally the intense itching has subsided. I’ve been treating the itch with a 1% hydrocortizone cream which has helped a little. It’s hard to tell on a day-to-day basis if the tattoo is fading (kinda like with weight loss), but when I see my own before and after photos I can see a huge difference. Overall, the celtic tattoo is much lighter and the fine lines are beginning to break up. I’m not noticing as much of a difference with the kanji tattoo, but it’s a thick black mark. I think this one will take more time.

The two photos of the kanji tattoo were taken at slightly different angles which explains the change in shape.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with the progress and have a feeling the celtic tattoo will be gone in less than the estimated 10 treatments.
